Jannik Sinner won his 1st China Open in 1st October 2023 after defeating world number 2 Carlos Alcaraz and world number 3 Danil Medvevev. It was a very impressive run indeed for the 22 year old and has brought his current world ranking to number 4.
Jannik Sinner was born on August 16, 2001, in San Candido, Italy.
Jannik did not actually focus on tennis until the age of 13. Before that, he was one of the most promising junior skiers in Italy and even won a national championship in giant slalom at eight years old and was the runner up at the age of twelve.
He’s often asked if he thinks he made the right choice to go for tennis instead of skiing.
